to go out and grab one….

Then the next decision is which model (aff link) ...
So let’s jump straight into the reasons you should get an Aerogarden
1 – Grow your own plants
There is nothing more exciting than looking where you have planted seeds and seeing the first signs of

Flickr
life….
Seeing those tiny little leaves emerging from the soil….
Well in the case of the Aerogarden from the preseeded seed pod….
If you lack a garden or are in a climate that is unfavorable for gardening, then you can still grow plants…
You can plant them indoors where you can see them anytime you are home…
2 – Relaxing to watch
For me there is little that matches the satisfaction of knowing that the plants i see there have grown because i have cared for them ( ok…the Aerogarden with its automatic functions does most of it)…
To give them light, water ,food, support and air…everything the plant needs to grow….
All in one small compact unit that you plug in, switch on and add water …
3 – Know what’s going in to grow your plants
You add water and the plant food to grow your plants in the Aerogarden…
No pesticides or herbicides….just good mineral plant food…
So you know that the leaves of your plants have not been sprayed with anything nasty…
You know that the ground has not be sterilized to grow your plant….
And you know that they have not been forced to grow…
You add the water and the plant food, when told to by the Aerogarden for the best growth…
4 – Freshest you can get
And what is better than cooking, picking the herbs you need at that moment…tearing them up to add to

your recipe…
Only to smell the aroma coming off the herbs, thinking that these are the strongest flavors you have ever smelt…
Or adding them to a cocktail, allowing the flavor to enhance the drink or as a decoration…or both…
5 – Give away , create gifts or store for later
Adding herbs to oils to infuse the flavor for cooking or dressings is a great way to use up the extra herbs you will get with the Aerogarden method of growing…

With hydroponics you are giving the plant the best life…
No scratching in the dirt to find food (pardon the pun) as you supply the best food for your plants….
You could grow lavender to make so many gifts, and to fragrance you home…
Growing flowers for drying to make arrangements is popular with Aerogardens as you have the most control over what will happen to your flowers…
Just make sure they will fit in your Aerogarden…
But there are some large models…
6 – Gain knowledge of what you can grow
Slowly build up your knowledge of what goes well with what in your Aerogarden…
If you plant tall, fast growing plants next to slow growing short plants then there will be no competition for light, the tall ones will get most of it…
I grew mint right next to thyme.. no guessing which plant is still growing and the poor thyme never really had a chance….
7 – Reusable for years of growing
No need to throw it away once the plants have finished…

Once a plant has gone over then you can remove the growing pod…
Remove the growing substrate….
Replace it with a new one…
Add a new seed of what you want to grow next and pop it back into the hole….
And the next generation starts from there….
The led hood lights will last at least 8.5 years with out replacing….
The rest of the unit is well made and will last for years…
I am using Aerogardens from over 15 years ago…
8 – Routine is good for humans
Humans thrive on routine…
So adding the checking and watering of an Aerogarden every morning or night can help to add more stability to your life…
When the chaos settles and you stand in front of the Aerogarden and think ‘ i helped care for these plants’ as you top up the water to the fill here line….
Then back into your hectic world, but allowing yourself that moment with your plants…
9 – Grow all year round
When gardeners are talking about ‘This has been a very bad year for growing’ and you have a freezer stuffed with your excess…
You think how lucky you have been to know about the indoor pleasure of growing your own herbs and veg…
You can’t grow everything, root veg are out as there is not enough room under the pod for the veg to grow…
And i may not grow rosemary as this can take years to grow, but if you are prepared to wait then you can…
10 – Talking point
Imagine having herbs growing in your living space for all to see as they come round…
Cooking for them and saying ‘ excuse me i need to get to the herbs’

And them watching as you go over to your Aerogarden and pick the herbs for the recipe you are cooking for them…
Of course you pick that extra leaf and crush it to allow the aroma of the herb to fill the room….
This little unit overflowing with healthy herbs, you will be a few minutes explaining how it works…
But it is worth it…
Do you need an Aerogarden in your life
So there are 10 good reasons you should get an Aerogarden…or if not you, then the person who has everything can be surprised by this gift…
Imagine their surprise when they open the wrapping to see an indoor herb garden, complete…nothing else to buy for the first crop….
And hopefully they will invite you round for a meal cooked with the herbs fresh from the ‘aero’ garden…
Why not check out the whole range (aff link) and see which one is the best fit for yourself or others….

If you know of any other reasons that you need an aerogarden in your life then why not share them so other can see what they are missing out on…
I have been growing plants hydroponically since 2009. For years before that i was reading books and looking at systems and saying ...no way...
But once i had taken the plunge with the tomatoes outside, then there was no stopping me.
I tried out most of the systems and started to refine them, getting the plants to grow more efficiently.
Now I am more interested in indoor hydroponics and the challenges it presents. Being able to control the environment, feeding the correct nutrients and giving the correct length and type of lighting....
Thanks for the useful information!
